Bei der Suche nach einem Nachfolger stie\u00df man auf\n einen theaterbegeisterten Trierer, der gerade eine Ausbildung\n    im Bereich des Schultheaters machte. F\u00fcr Gerd Freyberg ging ein lang\n gehegter Traum in Erf\u00fcllung: Regie in einer eigenen Theatergruppe zu \nf\u00fchren. Das war im Jahr 1987.<br><br>\n    Bald wurde die ehemalige VHS-Gruppe ein Teil der KATZ, der Kleinen \nAlternativen Trierer Zeitung, einem kleinen, aber beachtlich \nalternativen Stadtmagazin. So kam es, dass schlie\u00dflich im Jahr 1990\n    das KATZ-Theater sein erstes Theaterst\u00fcck auf die B\u00fchne der TUFA \nTrier brachte. \u201eIst der wei\u00dfe Flieder essbar\u201c war eine Eigenproduktion, \ndie aus zahlreichen Improvisationen entstand.<br><br>\n    Heute gibt es zwar nicht mehr die KATZ, aber das KATZ-Theater ist \ngeblieben und steht regelm\u00e4\u00dfig auf der B\u00fchne der TUFA.
